May Crowning of Mary is May 5

We invite any of our children who are able to be at the 11 AM mass on May 5 to be in a procession to carry flowers to Mary and crown her. Children should arrive by 10:50.

Adult Confirmation Classes

Are you an adult or high school student who would like to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation? If so, you are invited to attend 6 preparatory classes and receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on Pentecost Sunday, June 9, 11 AM.

The classes will be at St. Mary Magdalen, Tuesday evenings, 7-9 PM, April 30 – June 4. High school students must have permission from their Pastor. If you are interested, please call 810-229-8624 or email Sr. Maryetta (pastmin2@saintmarymagdalen.org) or Deacon Dave Scharf (deacon1@saintmarymagdalen.org).

Attention families with 3-5 year olds…

Our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd process of formation begins with three year olds! Our three to five year olds are in Level 1 while 1st-3rd graders are in Level 2. Come see these beautiful atriums with hands on activities to help our young children come to know Jesus as their Good Shepherd.

We welcome showing these atriums so reach out to Iris Winiarski or Marie Sheridan for a personal tour and explanation of this process.

Safety with St. Agnes Youth

In light of all the news about scandal in the church we wanted to share with you the precautions we take at St. Agnes to ensure that our children and teens are as safe as possible.

  1. All volunteers and staff that work with youth have to take a “Protecting God’s Children” class and a criminal background check is done. This Fall we will be hosting several opportunities for our volunteers to attend an updated session.
  2. We schedule to have two adults or an adult and older teen in all of our younger children classrooms.
  3. We annually hold “Touching Safety” sessions with our children.
  4. We check to be sure larger closets and spaces that are not being used are locked when children are here.
  5. We conduct annual fire drills.

If you have any questions, or concerns, please let Marie or Iris know in our Faith Formation Office.
