"Christ In Us"  Serving the needs of others...

Christian Service Ministry Brochure  (updated Autumn 2021)

NOTE: The Christian Service office will be closed the week of November 21, 2021 in honor of the Thanksgiving Holiday; however, our email account will be monitored to field any emergencies during this time.  If you need to contact Christian Service, please email [email protected] - do not use the telephone for voice mail during this time. Regular office hours will resume the week of November 28. Happy Thanksgiving!

Advent Giving Tree

This is it! All Advent Giving Tree envelopes must be returned by Sunday, November 28th - in order to ensure your generous donation makes it in time to Livingston County Catholic Charities and Fowlerville Family Impact Center for them to transform it into Christmas gifts. Sorry to say, this is a hard deadline. ‘Tags’ on the AGT all have the same message, asking for either cash or check. Make checks payable to St Agnes Church & write “AGT” on the memo line.

Let’s have a huge round of applause for Janet and David Kuehn who have coordinated the AGT for so many years. Their dedication to the less fortunate of our community sets a beautiful example of Christian love!

Christmas Food Baskets

OK! Let’s change into our Santa elf hats! Kathy Maresco, Janine Walker, and Mary Korsgren ask you to contact the CS office by December 10 if you know a family who would benefit from a food basket this Christmas or if you would like to donate a ham or turkey. If you have a few extra $$ in your grocery budget, our pantry could also use a boost. Some suggestions: boxed potatoes, jelly, canned vegetables, bottled fruit juice, pasta and pasta sauce. Assembly of Christmas food baskets will take place in RE 7/8 on
December 19th after the 8:30 AM Mass. Save the date and see you there!

The BIG Gobble - Afterglow!

Holy Drumstix! Beloved friends of St Agnes, you did more than just scare up some stuffing. We are talking 15 Thanksgiving food baskets = nearly 1000 pounds of food! Thank you, Donna and Carlos Chacon, our wonderful coordinators!

Special bouquets of gratitude to everyone who helped: the food stagers, the turkey donators, the ‘pantry bolsterers’, as well as the troop of valiant volunteers who created the baskets which brought Thanksgiving joy to so many folks in need. Warmest gratitude to those who supported this effort with their prayers! Humble and sincere thanks to all!

Office Hours

Christian Service Hours: REGULAR Office Hours are every Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. The Christian Service email account [email protected] is checked several times a day.  Telephone messages are monitored on a staggered schedule; call the parish office at 517-223-8684 and ask for ext. 312. Please remember: Christian Service is an all-volunteer ministry so it could take a bit of time until we get back with you.

Please contact us if you or someone you know is in need of assistance before things get out of hand.

We are here to assist by listening, giving suggestions and/or direction for avenues of assistance, and helping in other possible ways.
