"Christ In Us" Serving the needs of others...
NOTICE: Based on the current circumstances and with a profound desire to protect the health and well-being of all, Bishop Boyea has discerned that the current suspension of all public Masses and the liturgical directives that he established on March 17, 2020 should remain in place through May 31, 2020. We will advise of rescheduled dates and events when they become known. Meanwhile, below is information on our typical programs.
Livingston County Catholic Charities Update
Livingston County Catholic Charities remains open and serving our community. Services provided are telehealth for both Mental Health and Substance Abuse services, Child Welfare through Foster Care and Adoption programs, Substance Abuse Prevention Efforts and Senior Services through our Community Liaison (connecting seniors to critical resources) and Volunteer Caregiver programs.
Program staff in our Volunteer Caregiver program continue to provide transportation for seniors for critical medical appointments, grocery shopping and food delivery and more. Our volunteers have shifted temporarily to providing critical phone check-in visits for the elderly who are even more isolated now to protect the health of vulnerable seniors. Community Liaison staff are busier than ever working with seniors to connect them to and help them secure critical services and resources that help them to live safe and well on their limited incomes during this time of limited services and resources. Both of these services have been and remain free to seniors.
As mental health and addiction is on the rise due to COVID-19, persons struggling with mental heath concerns can contact our Clinical Director, John Furey at 517-545-5944 for an initial phone intake. John will return your call on days of operation. Persons struggling with addiction can contact our Clinical Case Manager, Jessica, 24/7 at 517-375-1652.
Hours of operation have been modified to Tuesdays 12p-8p, Wednesdays 9a-5p and Fridays 9a-5p. LCCC is working within the CDC guidelines.
We have also been posting on our social media many other resources that come our way and sending out weekly tips/resources/update e-mails which can be found on our Facebook page as well. Please let us know if we can help in any manner. Expert opinions are that we will see a surge in mental health and substance abuse issues as we climb out of this and work through our new normal. We continue to monitor the CDC and Governor reports that will aid us in reopening Be Our Guest Adult Day and resuming normal operations of all programs and will report when that opportunity arises.
Please visit our website for up-to-date information on days and times of operation, program staff contacts, valuable resources and more. We look forward to when we can resume full operation of all programs and remain committed to serving our community with a focus on the most vulnerable. Driven by Faith. Here for All.
Children's Easter Baskets
Sad to say, due to circumstances beyond our control, we were unable to come together as a group to create the beautiful Children's Easter baskets we have historically made. No worries though! The candy and toys donated to Christian Service have all been delivered to the Fowlerville Family Impact Center for distribution to children of families who are arriving there daily for food. What a joyous surprise this will be for them - as well as a much needed shot of normality for so many folks in our community! Thank you for your generosity and love that made this possible!
